This Mishnah discusses whether a groom is allowed to recite the Shemah on the first night of his marriage if he wishes to do so.

אִם רָצָה לִקְרוֹת

קְרִיאַת שְׁמַע

לַיְלָה הִָרִאשׁוֹן,

קוֹרֵא.


רַבָּן שִׁמְעוֹן בֶּן גַּמְלִיאֵל אוֹמֵר,

לֹא כָּל הָרוֹצֶה

לִטּוֹל אֶת הַשֵּׁם
